If you’re aware of Digital Deepak, you would definitely know of his infamous internship programme and would be looking forward to some independent reviews to understand if this would be worth a try or not. I’ve only given reviews of any product or service or a brand if it is beyond appreciation. I personally don’t prefer making people feel low after giving their best and reading a negative remark. I’m of the kind that I would personally leave a message or feedback or suggestion if something was out of place or negative. This is not just my review but also my journey of how i entered into Digital marketing even though I had no intention of it and how it had made an impact in my life so far thanks to Digital Deepak, his team and his very well curated Internship programme.

I am a fashion graduate from a family business background and ever since I understood the meaning of Hobby, I have been inclined towards creating art, fashion illustrations, designs and detailing. In my middle school, I gained knowledge about our family business and understood a lot about fabrics as we have our own textile unit and fabric printing factory. I have been a keen person towards learning through experimentations and spending valuable time. I am an extrovert who equally enjoys solo trips, libraries, as much as I enjoy social gatherings and parties. I resonate with all of my creative instincts and have been sure of my career from a long time.

I was sure on my plans ahead about gaining a year of experience in the field and then going out of the country for Masters in Fashion design, before I finally join my Parents company and take it a step ahead. I was suppose to graduate in 2020 and get recruited but Coronavirus entered and life took a different turn not just on my educational front but also in terms of the country’s economy. College was not able to give us placements and I decided on working on myself and my abilities in the lockdown period. I decided on building a strong portfolio, practicing my softwares, designing and creating art.

While many cafes and branches of big brands were shutting down, some brands were decreasing their staff, we also as a business had issues because the fashion industry was adversely hit and the labor needed work more than we needed it, because they were more vulnerable than us in our homes, so while my mom was stressed about how to go about it, I decided on creating designs for my own company from home and sell through social media as people were not able to go to the malls to shop I received a huge response. With Rakhi and Diwali around the corner, sales were far more than what we were expecting.

My parents have never been tech savvy per se, and all the little promotion, editing, photoshoots of products were being done and all accounts were being handled by me. They have had a long experience in the market, have a lot of contacts but they have never stepped into any kind of marketing neither traditional nor digital. Amidst all my struggle of understanding Instagram business account, Facebook page and WhatsApp business for my clients, a friend of mine told me that he was planning on joining Digital Deepak and said that he thoroughly enjoyed the way he interacted and communicated. Curiously, I also randomly decided on jumping in one of the free webinars to gain some knowledge and also pass some time. I thoroughly enjoyed his pep talk and was quite interested in continuing and I asked my boyfriend to give me a little more insight about this and the internship program, he even told me that it will be of great help if I want to join but I got really busy and everything slipped out of my mind. The day of the launch webinar I overslept and my friend had already enrolled for it and I had missed the chance.

They say, when you lose a chance, you regret it a little more and many more reasons start coming in my head as to why I should have joined and I should have paid attention when I had the time. I basically cribbed about it one entire day and finally came to a conclusion that I’ll join in the next batch which initially Digital Deepak said would be next year. By now, I had listed down my reasons and benefits of Digital Marketing for my work and It also clicked me that I do this internship program it will not just be a help to me knowledge wise but I could go ahead and promote the work, make it come live online, give it a different dimension and I was completely sure of enrolling the next time when I get a chance, I started reading about it more, and asked my friend to keep me posted for the free webinars and enrolled myself in the free Digital Deepak course.

A few days later, to my surprise, in another enriching webinar, Digital Deepak announced that he will be opening a few seats and doing a launch webinar again for batch 7 as it is going to be the last batch of the year and he wants to help all of us to enrol as much as possible as the next batch will not just take a while but it might also have a few minor changes. And, I knew this is it. I attended the launch webinar, went through everything he said, thoroughly heard him and got myself enrolled in the programme. I am of the kind that I don’t like sitting idle, I love learning something all the time irrespective of how beneficial is, I feel knowledge never goes to waste.

After we got ourselves enrolled, our first video was a steal. If you focus on being positive, you tend to see all the positive things even in negative situations. This is an unsaid, in us humans. We act according to what we think, and what kind of a mindset we carry. The first week thoroughly explained it to me that this is not just going to be a program for me for a few weeks but it is going to give me perspective, depth and it could potentially be a game changer. The program is designed in a manner where it is not just teaching us about digital marketing but it is also teaching us entrepreneurial skills, more than career skills it is establishing ground of life and its principles. It is building our personalities and helping us acquire knowledge of skills that will go a long way even in our personal lives as individuals to boost our emotional well being, to keep us sane and happy, to keep us in control of our minds, to keep us aware. The programme is much more than what we perceive of it on the exterior.

I am already 4 weeks in the programme, we receive one video per week as per a calendar shared with us which is followed by us as well as Digital Deepak and his team. They give us 1 assignment per week, which is also assigned a day of the week for the release in the calendar, following which there is a video that helps us and guides us through the assignment. We even have a thorough one hour session of Question and Answer led by our mentors, in my case it’s Divya Kothari, a very learned man. He takes up all our questions, answers them through takes us through the assignment and explains any confusions and queries. Considering the number of students per batch, they have managed out the entire programme brilliantly. Many people might say or think that one class once a week is nothing, and it might make us lose or forget the chapter by the time we receive our next video but on a very honest opinion the video is a 2 hour video or so and it cover SO much in such a small span, it gives in references of books, articles and it asks us to go a little extra for yourself. It can keep us busy for the entire week very easily until the next video comes in, and in my opinion it is the best that could happen, spoon-feeding times have gone by, its not such an easy world now as it was for our parents. Competitions levels are all times high, educational levels have gone up, our own expectations from us have gone up so then why shouldn’t the effort and hard work also to raise the level.

Every assignment completion comes with a reward system, which is such a unique idea as Digital Deepak himself said that he wanted to challenge the education system and he went ahead with his idea. I think challenges are always welcome, as I’ve been learning through in my school too. The reward system is such a fulfilling system, it is technically free provided you work for it. Also it is not just an enriching programme but even the people in the batch are such knowledgeable people, everyone has their own perspectives, i keep reading through people’s articles n blogs posted in our interns telegram group and it is such a learning experience in itself. We have such learned people in the batch, there are no specific barriers. It gives such a push and a boost to never stop, age is just a number and circumstances are merely excuses, if you wish to do something and if you can dream it you can very well act for it and achieve it.

Thank you Digital Deepak, and team.
